Satellite One is the third in a series of sculptures based on the artists’ Metaspace typology, following The Infinite Room and Metaspace V2. Its spatial system builds on the Studio’s ongoing investigations into the relationship between matter, light, sound, and human experience.
In 2020, the artists began developing a series of Chromasonic installations, drawing on earlier works such as Chromasonic Field – Blue/Green (2013). Satellite One was the first permanent light-and-sound installation to emerge from this initiative and was made accessible to the public.
Grounded in the Studio’s foundational framework of algorithmically linking light and sound, this experimental initiative explores the implications for perception and cognition through extended perceptual encounters. These investigations continue within the Studio’s evolving practice through new spatial works that extend into broader inquiries into neuroaesthetics and embodied experience.
