Chromasonic Field by Johannes & Harriet Girardoni, light and sound installation

Chromasonic Field is a light-and-sound installation composed of translucent nodes that form an array of interrelated spaces. Each scrimmed volume is activated by a singular light source and spatialized sound — establishing a multi-layered environment in which luminous and acoustic phenomena are intrinsically linked.

As light modulates across the field, algorithmically connected sound waves propagate through the space. Color becomes audible, and sound becomes visible — a continuous feedback system between light, material, and participant.

Intended to be experienced from multiple vantage points, the work produces an evolving convergence between the immaterial qualities of color and the material perception of sound. As participants move through the installation, their presence alters both the visual and acoustic field — shaping a dynamic awareness of self and others within the space. Sensory Field engages perception as a relational condition, where presence is continuously formed, dissolved, and reconstituted within a shared environment.
